Never mind all the theory, I hear you saying, what's happening with Topo the rabbit? Find out with the Rabbitcam (Quicktime movie, 3.1MB, 3:12). If you're lucky you may see Topo attempting to drink without getting water up his nose, or chasing his favourite pair of blue socks around the room.
For more animal mysteries, check out this BBC Radio documentary about a strange motif -- an eternal ring of three interlocking hares with just three ears between them. The BBC explains: "The symbol appears in a carving in the roof of a medieval Devon church, but the hare-chasers trace its origins through medieval Europe; via an ancient casket said to have contained the bones of St Lazarus, a 13th century monastery bell, and a Chapter house roof where the hares are found rubbing shoulders with the pagan Green Man; all the way to the mountain Kingdom of Ladakh and 12th Century China." Date: 2005-03-21 10:46 am (UTC)I decided (http://www.imomus.com/dailyphoto291202.html) a couple of years ago that fluorescent light was the perfect light. It renders colour better, and when you put it near to the ground it gives this dramatic effect all through the house, like futuristic utility lighting. There's nothing more depressing to me than a room lit by a single overhead filament bulb. I love neon's mysterious throbbing, I love it when tubes flicker. Also, German apartments come totally bare, people even take the light fittings with them when they leave. So if you're lazy (and a bit scared of fiddling with naked wires) you put all the lamps down at floor level, near the sockets.
would it not poo everwhere, or pee in corners?
Rabbits make very clean poo and pee. In fact, they eat their own pellets so that they can digest the food twice! They tend to gnaw cables, though, and strip the wallpaper off with their teeth. Ours isn't yet house-trained, and needs a lot of supervision when it's roaming free.
how smart are rabbits?
I always thought of them as incredibly stupid, compared to, say, cats. I still think they are, but ours makes up for it with a very comical personality.
