Please enjoy hell yes!
Jan. 28th, 2005 10:11 amHurrah for Beck's new song, 'Hell Yes', a return to his robo-funkin' roots! (I particularly like the Japanese female voice that says 'Please enjoy!' in the chorus.) And hurrah for Mumbleboy's Flash video for it, which looks nice and cheap and inventive, like Beck used to be!

Here's the video:

You can still watch Mumbleboy's video for my 2001 song 'Tape Recorder Man' on his site:
Tape Recorder Man (Flash animation)
Actually, if there are any Flash geniuses out there who want to make an animation for a track off my new album for their showreel, speak now!

Date: 2005-01-28 05:26 pm (UTC)I downloaded a leak of the album last week. "Hell Yes" is no "This is My Crew" but it's still nice a cozy, esp with all that 'heathen guitar' line. "E-Pro" is rad and "Black Tamborine" has one of the best grooves I've ever heard in a Beck song.
But some of the leaked tracks sound kinda scary...in a bad way. "Summer Girl" or whatever it is, the one that opens with a chiptune intro, reminds me of Sheril Crow which is NOT a good thing. The one that's been going around as "Chain Reaction" feels like 1996 all over again. Which i suppose is a good thing.
still, id rather hear the new momus!
