Just a reminder that I give a free design talk tonight at the ICA Boston at 6.30pm, and there are mojitos in the Water Café afterwards (my "featured designer's drink of choice").

This is a painting of "Archbishop Momus in the vein of Jerry Cornelius" (2000-2007) by my friend and Williamsburg host, the artist Brian Szente. Brian is currently showing his paintings (influenced, he says, by Hundertwasser) at the French-run Simple Cafe on Bedford Avenue. And here's a video of a song called "Broken Swings" Brian co-directed with his girlfriend, the singer Ana Lola Roman:

It's sort of David Lynch meets The Centimeters, no?

Brian told me he's a big fan of obscure British kids' TV characters like Bagpuss, so I recommended he watch a documentary on YouTube called "Children's TV on Trial", an excellent survey of British children's TV in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The first episodes are on this page, and later decades are covered here.

Wasn't Hundertwasser a big fave of John Lydon's at one point?

Hmm, photo's none too flattering - your face is starting to get that waxwork-ish, old-person look. Time to smear a bit of the old vaseline on the lens, Momus.

He doesn't look any older than he is.

But do get you hair cut, Momus. Thinning hair never looks good long.

Momus is in his fifties, isn't he? In which case, he's looking pretty good for his age.

I decided to do this project but for some odd reason I can't find ANY church porn! I even crossed the line and searched for Mormon porn! If you can find me some that would be great.

I want a dead one!

Sounds like a feminist's movement.
You definitely need to appear in Lola's next
as an Archbishop of Sceptrum Humanitus devinating
child spirits entombed by consciousness.

Gee, I was talking to ALR the other day and she was telling me about this Momus journal, she hasn't read it yet but I knew there would at least be one of these Sod's who would drop the standard issue Kate Bush comment....its okay, your average Laymen doesn't know any better. Since she sucks so bad I guess this is why she's appearing in this
