Just a reminder that I give a free design talk tonight at the ICA Boston at 6.30pm, and there are mojitos in the Water Café afterwards (my "featured designer's drink of choice").

This is a painting of "Archbishop Momus in the vein of Jerry Cornelius" (2000-2007) by my friend and Williamsburg host, the artist Brian Szente. It's sort of David Lynch meets The Centimeters, no?

Brian told me he's a big fan of obscure British kids' TV characters like Bagpuss, so I recommended he watch a documentary on YouTube called "Children's TV on Trial", an excellent survey of British children's TV in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The first episodes are on this page, and later decades are covered here.
