Thanks to Andrew, who made the vids, and Samantha Crü (aka Laila France) for setting up the show.

See-through trousers and Pearl Jam?

You sir are singularly remarkable in the pop pantheon, I don't quite know why you bother channeling your energies into the ephemeral pub talk that is blogging when what you can do with the pop music medium transcends this other primary diversion.
Your blog is provocative and interesting - one of the very few that I take time to read - but the recent retrospective feature was indicative of the disposability of those words in the ether of computer storage, bloggers prefer a turd of the moment rather than all the gems of the past.
The creation of uniquely inventive, intelligent pop music is what Momus excels at. Surely the vague tangential response that historically constitutes much of the comment line response to your music must merit the question, why bother with expending time blogging for an audience whose reaction to your music is so often oblique indifference?

Ah well, I knew I shouldn't have dropped the bad band's name..
To make it a bit clearer, I wasn't thinking of Pearl Jam, but had the image of a "love boat captain sinking with his ship" puffing up in my head when I saw him saluting. It's just that "Love Boat Captain" is one of two Pearl Jam songs I know, and thought I'd credit them with the term (I even excused myself for dropping their name!).
I came to this blog via Momus' music and enjoy both very much.
Indifference is not how I react to his music. Quite the opposite.

The problem with the older blog entries is that it's
a) difficult to find them other than scrolling through the days
b) made difficult to keep track of the comments.

No slight intended

That observation was not aimed at you specifically Robert, in fact I rather liked your "Love Boat" related image, reminded me of a late eighties Larson cartoon which featured the Love Boat straying into the Straits of Hormuz.
I do prefer Momus music over his blog, his records have been holding shelf space with me for two decades and rather than succumbing to a late career dip of just chucking out another formulaic collection of songs he still can create a record as surprising and splendid as Ocky Milk.
He has certainly surpassed the majority of his own music heroes on the route from Circus Maximus to Ocky Milk.
What I wrote was more an comment on the evanescense of blogging and a frustration with the degree to which Momus music is undervalued, sometimes - in a relative way - by himself.
