Berliniamsburg

I've moved to a 6000 square foot warehouse in East Williamsburg. I'll be living here, with five other artists and Lovecraft the kitten, until the end of May.

Somehow it feels very Berlin!

kittens are amazing.

i have recently added you - i hope you don't mind! - but i have to say that kitten lovecraft is too cute. the new place looks great, though i haven't seen the other. it is good for artists to have space in which to expand!

..speaking of housing, Know anyone that needs a room in the LES (Broome St., 1 block from Congee Village!) for $1200 including utilities starting on April, May, or June 1?

I'm looking for a roomie!

[identity profile] framework.livejournal.com 2006-03-20 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Want to make an appointment? Some other things I should mention is that I'm looking for a quiet, stable, non-smoker, no pets.

[identity profile] cheesedip.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
I do! I've got a small well-behaved dog, can he come?

[identity profile] framework.livejournal.com 2006-03-20 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, alas, sorry - no pets. I am very allergic to hair.

[identity profile] kiplet.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
You realize, of course, that we will now expect kittenblogging on a regular basis.

I like the partially disassembled Ices Truck.

[identity profile] she-ghost.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
that's no kitten - that's a russian princeling.

happy new art house.

East Williamsburg...same as Bushwick, twice the price! Gotta love hipsterfication.

[identity profile] geeveecatullus.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
That's such a cool place.
And a beautiful kitten.

[identity profile] mylifeismundane.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
honestly, i was just scrolling down and only really noticed the kitten pic. i must therefore conclude that your post was somehow related to this kitten, and how cute it is. go you.

;-p

ah, my congrats....sounds better than harlem and the back of the zack feuer. looks a bit like my collective in SF too.

i'd like to meet Lovecraft if i happen by Williamsburg while you're in town.

some of my favorite residences have been warehouses. yours doesn't seem to be an exception.

And just to add to the German feeling, you all should make some improv music directly to tape (or hard drives) like kraut rockers!

[identity profile] imomus.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
There are two crazy Italians here who make music with photo-electric cells. I already "collaborated" with them by taking a flash photo of their space, which set off a note from their musical machines!

[identity profile] lord-whimsy.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Doesn't involve light sensors affixed to a cathode ray tube, does it? Might be interesting to see which movies are the most "melodic."

[identity profile] bifteck.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, I'd really like to see that.

[identity profile] lord-whimsy.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I've a recording of it around here somewhere. The fellow's name is Reed Ghazala, and the instrument/device is called a Video Octavox.

[identity profile] purldrop.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
another vote for kittenblogging! and such a great kitten name... (i also just recently added you, thought i should say hello!)

[identity profile] lolitard.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, I have a terribly practical question for you. Is it okay if I buy your records off of iTunes--in other words, do you get paid? Thanks for answering this boring but terribly practical question of mine.

[identity profile] imomus.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, go ahead!

[identity profile] cap-scaleman.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
That place nearly looks like my room before I cleaned it. And it's a bit bigger too, the warehouse that is.

[identity profile] diabloenelojo.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, so you've moved to our little faux-Bohemia. Excellent. Now throw a party.

[identity profile] friki.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
Very nice =)))

dye!

[identity profile] fascicle.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 12:16 pm (UTC)(link)

Now to dye Lovecraft in the Colour out of Space

A cat's historic, uh, part in music is not to be envied.

[identity profile] nosearmy.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
hey, nice! welcome to the self-hating and self-aggrandizing 'hood!

[identity profile] memorybabe.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Will you throw a big party and invite us? I'm in Greenpoint!

[identity profile] dubow-org.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Looks very much like a set for a film or tv series. Perhaps you can do a Dogville-esque movie in between writing songs and telling jokes! :)

Berlin also in the name, karmic tie? :)
