How did I pass my time on earth? Now it can be revealed!
Got an hour or so to spare, and find yourself wondering "How the hell did this Momus guy pass his time on earth, musically speaking?" Now it can be revealed in The Momus Story, the interview I recorded for Cherry Red TV on May 29th:

my first reaction
It would be nice if the cushy seating were surrounded by nothing but
blackened space surrounded by a sea of cherry red logos repeated on the floor and curtains.

Re: my first reaction
Though with just curtains it would make it less expensive and suit everyone alike!

(I wish you'd write your autobiography. I know that you've said before that you don't want to but you've got so many great stories, it seems a great shame for them not to be documented)

(Anonymous) 2009-06-11 09:37 am (UTC)(link)Also, Lifejournal's captcha program is the ideal Song Title Generator. Today's suggestion: Make a song called "Siberian Overcoat".
On the ferry to my daily work,
leaving Kowloon behind
I can't help but rewind
to the day that you left me
for my stupid siberian overcoat.
Siberian coat, siberian coat,
Why can't I be as cuddly as the 18th century
Siberian coat, on this torture boat,
You stole my love as she stole you from me.
Overcoat from Siberia, you coat of the stars,
You coat of the over, Siberian winter and siberian wars.
I am lonely and I fear I can never go
to a place colder than Hongkong or Tokyo.
Well, I tried.

On the possibility of a Summerisle 2: I would not like to see that happen because of the fact that I really like Summerisle. A sequel does not seem very Momus-like. (But the things I heard from Anne Laplantine after Summerisle have been fantastic)

(Anonymous) 2009-06-11 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)I just noticed something -- the negative space of your oversized eyepatch gives your face the quality of a loyal dog. You know, like Petey from the little rascals, or a japanese cartoon.
I love you momus.

(Anonymous) 2009-06-11 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)perfect conversation!
(Anonymous) 2009-06-12 12:06 am (UTC)(link)This obsession was quite surprising to my friends who would receive cassette/cd compilations I felt compelled to make. Summer Holiday 1999 -Fab Gear, Oh Constance -Marden Hill, You Mary You -Louis Philippe, Maria Celeste -Anthony Adverse, Jackie Onassis -Milky and on and on and on...
You did a great job explaining the thread and even though you can frustrate the hell out of me at times, I have a fondness for every piece of music and essay you have released. You and Mike Alway, have always made music and life's observations greatly rewarding. Thanks Nick!
