By the way, Frog King has an art opening tonight. I'll be there. Here are the details:

'Habitus is proud to present SERIES 7: For Me For You*  Happening design exhibition, featuring veteran artist Frog King Kwok Mang-ho. From September 1, for ten days, Frog King will hang around at the attic in habitus, painting, sculpting, taking photographs, performing... You are invited to come and join the fun! Please scroll down for details of time and place of Frog King's new Happening. Thanks for supporting local design.

habitus SERIES 7: For Me For You Happening design exhibition Wa! -pening habitus: round 1**
1/9/2004-12/9/2004 (closed on Mondays and public holidays)

In-between Opening reception: 4/9/2004 Saturday 6pm
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 12noon-  7pm
Location: the attic, habitus, 3/F, The Western Market, Sheung Wan

This is the first round of a series of Wapening by Frog King in habitus. Since the 1960s, Kwok Mang-ho, aka Frog King, has never stopped happening- over and over again, he has made Happenings happen. As autumn gets ready to set in, bubbly and buoyant Frog King bumbles into habitus before retiring into hibernation. For two weeks, from day till night, he will fix his mind on being resolutely irresolute and seriously playful to engage with art happening in life and life happening in art.

During his residence in the attic, Frog King will perform live painting, sculpting, making installations and videos, taking photographs and making a variety of design objects. He has promised to sell what he makes, steadfastly upholding the 'For Me For You'  ethic. Viewers could in turn play host, improvising with Frog King during the festivities. Others who may prefer some peace could bring along their personal objects and invite Frog King to transform them into unique design works. With Frog King as host, guests will surely feel at home. Inquiries: Yeung Yang 9040 3877

 * 'For Me For You' is a Cantonese colloquial, expressing a work ethic of the grassroot people.
** Wa is the Cantonese for frog and Wa! is a Cantonese exclamation.'

The South China Morning Post? Hmmph! Well, I suppose you're too good for us now, Mr. Currie.

Seriously, congrats. I'd link to the article online but the thieving bastards want a subscription fee and all the logins for SCMP at bugmenot.com are invalid. I suppose I'll have to break down and actually buy a copy at Pike Place Market in the morning. Bother.

Scratch that, I finally noticed that the image above is linked to an enlargement. Danke!

Hello Kitty can never be defeated, for she has the strength of a thousand. Give up being her rival; join her and bask forever in the cuteness.

Something very... odd about that photo of you in the South China Sunday Post.

A good (looking) article and great pictures. This last batch of pictures from Japan and Hong Kong are spectacular. You definitely have "an eye" for interesting things and details (however small, feral cats etc.)
I hope you all don't get any more Typhoons. We have Frances coming in today over Florida... What's the difference between typhoons and hurricanes anyway?

What camera are you using? The hong kong colors look exactly like they do in artsy hong kong movies. Is Hong Kong really have that danky, blue tinge when you are looking at it with the naked eye?

Fujifilm Finepix F601.

Hong Kong mostly looks yellow, at least through my sunglasses. Out the window now it has a foggy haze from the pollution. Pale greeny grey.
