I couldn't resist connecting the birth of a new Paris arts centre in a mortuary to that silly article a year ago in Time magazine that declared French culture dead. Whether this 104 place is confirmation or refutation of that theory I'm not sure, but death seems pretty vibrant and vital in Paris -- even funky.



Meanwhile, if you're in Berlin, do come down today, Saturday or Sunday between about 3pm and 8pm to witness the Rice Experiment at Bridge Berlin.

It's been hard thinking up insults, we don't want to go too negative (like the presidential candidates). I've mostly been calling the "white trash" rice filth and putrescence and words like that. But people have given us insults in five different languages so far, including pature-usure and scheiss mit reis and paella de merda.

Oh, and it's Thai rice, and no, we haven't dampened the bowls, or isolated them. It's more witch-doctoring than science.
