Some people think girls who wear glasses are monsters.

That's nonsense.

And they're beauties.

I can only imagine that the glasses girls collage was formed from a massive collection of such pictures that you have somewhere on your computer.

Being a huge fan of awkward/adorable (awkwardable?) girls in glasses, I politely request you share some more.

Speaking as a girl in very similar glasses, I say awww. And thank you. And wow, totally amazing illustrations! Are they all from the same book? What is it?

Zoku just means the sequel. He's famous for the Yokai manga "Gegege no Kitaro".

Vice magazine just recently released its 2008 Global Trend Report:

Is there still no respite from this shit? Vintage glasses have been completely played out. Subculture uniforms are the worst type of conformism -- it combines the bogus "these clothes are my identity" aspect of FASHION with all the unoriginality of following a dress-by-numbers scheme.

Buy some converse, get some skinny jeans and move to the back of the queue.

LOL. *approves*
Also, vintage glasses will never go out of style while the only alternative is those hideous tiny steel-framed oblongs that seem to fill 99% of opticians these days.

So what's the subtext of this post? That glasses also = brainy, therefore brainy girls are sexy? That glasses also = indie, therefore indie girls are sexy?

But really, that whole "men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses" is a bit old now isn't it? Glasses have been a sexy accessory for quite a while. The very fact that one can so easily wear contact lenses now means that girls who wear glasses must think the glasses add something to their appearance.

Ginny Weasley needs to cheer up. She has appallingly named babies by the hero protagonist at the end of the story.

I wear steel framed specs 'cos I can see past them and they don't totally fill my peripheral vision. Mind you having had to suffer NHS spec-based bullying at school I couldn't go back...

Completely over my head. I'm guessing it's a Harry Potter reference. What about this:

omfghot. one of the many things I miss about the '90s is the profusion of granny glasses on cute nerdy girls.

And what's wrong with that?

a) It's a collective identity [nothing wrong with them].

b) It's "by numbers" so you don't have to scratch your head about what to wear every day. [Which frees you for other more important things]

so there...
