Yes, that grandfather clock is in a room just outside the Hase-Dera temple (http://www.burgessbroadcast.org/japan/2001/011_Kamakura/013_Hasedera/) in Kamakura. I photograph it every time I go there. It's also on the back sleeve of 'Forbidden Software Timemachine', in a pixelated drawn version.

the hat over the eye style is very funky fresh. I miss japan so but it will be Thailand for me, next month, Buddha-licious and sticky zen. I have to remember to be polite and not point my feet at people. is that a buddhist superstition? I wonder if foot fetishes are an even greater taboo than say anal sex there.

There does seem to be a strain of Japanese porn devoted to girls clasping the guy's penis between their feet and jiggling him off. The girls are always wearing stockings, though... perhaps because bare feet would be considered 'dirty', or perhaps so that the sperm, when it inevitably arrives, can besmirch the (usually dark) stockings in a rather satisfying way.
