I just wanted to tell you that I have just finished listening to the Kahimi Karie album you produced and I really like it. Also, I actually bought it in a used record store in Dallas, Texas; a fact which may or may not amuse you.

Yes--I'm a fan, too. His hair was fascinating (apologies).

Engels was quite taken with the collectivism of the Shakers, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakers) you know. There's only about four left--might be a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor. Think of all the quilting bees!

Incongruously summery... and incongruously influenced by the Festival of Britain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festival_of_Britain)! It all started with the font, and I just went with the flow.

Hi, Nick! I was just reading this interview (http://www.out.com/detail.asp?id=21164) between Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy) and Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear, and about halfway through, they get to talking about why they hate England and, haha, I thought of you.

So I was wondering what you think.

Why are gay music artists in gay magazine interviews so much more interesting than straight music artists in straight magazine interviews? Sterling, pounding stuff.

I like gay mags because they revel in their own tawdriness. Interviewing for them can make you temporarily witty. It's contagious, but fleeting.

Won't be seeing your shows because music has become sidelined, jilted, demoted, decentred, dethroned as the exemplary creative activity. I'll be checking out some galleries instead. Tee hee...

you should smile more often
do you have a wide gappy toothed grin,
a lop sided leer
or a shy tight lipped thing?
do you smile differently for photos and strangers VS friends?

Hello.

Looking forward to your gig tonight; do you mind if I do a spot of field recording in the background? I have a tiny microtrack recorder, which is fairly unnoticeable, and would send you a copy of the recording if it is not too awful.

Please let me know!

Thanks

Lawrence once sang that "Denim put the soul in your rock n roll." So where is the soul in the blue Jeans genome? Very interesting article Nick, although I must confess to missing the old essay format style. Nonetheless, interesting as always. The Protagonist! ps. any chance of ever hearing Karin Komoto again?

Just got back from the tate (a nice walk over the bridge). Good stuff, despite the constant murmur. Did you have new backing tracks? Some sounded different.
And, Wow, your hair's looking good in the back.

How can London be a bad place? I've seen you here 5 times I think in 4 years.
