Yesterday Hisae and I caught the penultimate day of Art Forum Berlin, the local equivalent of New York's Armory Show or London's Frieze Art Fair (which we'll see in a fortnight).

What can I say? In a sad old world, art makes me happy.

The fellow in the yellow jammies looks Belgian to me for some reason. Must be the sturdy build and undersized bowler hat.

In your case "art" generally = garbage.

Artichoke?

Date: 2006-10-04 04:03 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cerulicante.livejournal.com
Hmmm...if art makes you happy, then what is your position on artichokes?

I mean, you get the dizzying ecstasy of "art," the anthropocentric concept of self in the "I," but then, the inherent self-destructiveness of Mankind in the "choke." In one word, you find the salvation of Man, His unavoidable selfishness and then His inevitable death by His own hands.

The implications boggle the mind...and require thorough boiling and some lemon juice, too.

Good days = really large image montages saved as single images!

Also, why Arial instead of Helvetica?

Well, not all the time.
It's catchy, though.

Helvetica Neue Light and Ultralight Italic = Thumbs Way Up.

I've been smitten by Futura Extra Bold Oblique, myself.

Art makes me happy, too. Kind of.

I bought Ocky Milk yesterday.

I feel it's too early for me to say anything particularly intelligent about it, but at the moment I like Nervous Heartbeat, Permagasm and Zanzibar. I'm not yet at the point where I can easily put the titles to the tracks, but these ones stand out so far.

I recently came to the conclusion that Oskar Tennis Champion is my favourite Momus album.

That was me

yes, i need to get out of work early. yesterday the lead singer quit because he found 'God'...i messaged him that 'God' is a concept, 'God' dosen't book shows, pickup people at bus stations. But 'James' did take on the lead singing duties for the show on which he bailed on myself and four other mates. i'm sad, i invested a lot of time and $$ in that band and now it's DOA...i go to deyoung...i go look at cage painting...i hope i feel better

The new default one is actually taken by Jen DeNike (http://newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/arts/art/11264/index4.html), who's quite a famous artist / photographer. But it's not one of her "official" pictures. She just grabbed my camera when she was in Berlin recently and shot me at a party.
