I just got back from a three-hour tramp through the woods myself, and was depressed as usual to see more and more of the woods being carved away for ex-urbanite "retreats." Still, it is spring all over the northern hemisphere, and we're reminded how beautiful the world is--at least until global warming breaks down the Gulf Stream and those of us on both sides of the North Atlantic will be spending the rest of our lives gliding our gondolas around and among the icebergs.
Don't pine for me or I'll balsam

Thanks for the earthiness, Momus.
