I write to you hastily from Turin, where my train to Milan leaves in 10 minutes. The new edition of ID magazine is out, and I have two pieces in it, one about Cosmic Wonder, one about designer Alex Rich. Must fly!

hi nicholas,
the show in torino was brilliant.
I'm obnoxious little guy who haunted you before and after the concert with way too many record sleeves to sign.
a quick search on amazon.uk reassured me: some beppe fenoglio was actually translated into english. have a look at his masterpiece "johnny the partisan" and you'll be in for a nice surprise.
have a good trip to milan and venice and come back soon!

P.S. you mentioned edoardo bennato. I'm sorry to inform you that the artistic inventiveness and credibility of this neapolitan singer/songwriter have been sinking badly since the '80s, reaching a personal Marianas trench in 1992. As composer of the official anthem for the football world cup, he then penned the immortal lyrics: "magic nights/waiting for a goal/under the italian summer sky".

I never read ID before (mainly because I do not understand the aesthetics of design), but I suppose buying it to read your articles isn't a bad start, no?

Does that magazine tell me where I can get one of those robots? I hear they breakdance.
I think I would like to have a robot butler.

A breakdancing robot butler.

No chance of I.D. shelved in Southend-on-Sea. If I could just borrow that jet-pack (that's one of your pieces, right?), I could go with the crow and probably find it now. In Romford even. We have the worst M&S selection in the UK. Not that this worries me, just telling you all how tough it is. And it ain' getting any easier.

By the way throughout November, MedMax (www.medicusmaximus.com) is donating 10% of all sales to Asia Quake Appeal and It's raised £1,700 just this week alone so far! This is what some hick-of-a-cunt posted me back following a trade circular:

WHY BOTHER SENDING MONEY TO THOSE TOWEL HEADS ANYWAY?

I HOPE A SLAB OF CONCRETE FELL ON OSAMA BIN LADENS SKULL!

Does one reply? This is his address if you'd care to: pmfcinc@aol.com

I buy I.D. all the time. I'm honored to know that I am somehow, although, very distantly connected to you and the article that I hold in my hands.
