Momus live in London and Berlin

imomusWell, I'm back in Berlin (currently under a thin layer of snow) and planning my activities for the next couple of months. I'll be writing some essays for a book about photoblogging for Thames and Hudson, finding a new apartment in Berlin, and playing some live shows.
I'm happy to announce that Rhodri has organised a London concert in which Momus and Rhodri's band The Free French will co-headline, supported by neo-medievalists Stars In Battledress. Tickets are now available on Ticketweb.
Momus plus Free French & Stars in Battledress play at Bush Hall, 310 Uxbridge Road, London W12 (0208 222 6955) on Wednesday, April 27th at 7:30pm. Tickets are £7.00. (By the way, you can catch Louis Philippe and the High Llamas on April 22nd and 23rd at the same venue.)
There's a strong possibility of a more intimate Momus show at a more unlikely London venue the same week, but details haven't yet been confirmed, so for the moment please assume that Bush Hall on April 27th is the big Momus London show this year.
If you're in Berlin this month, there's a Momus show at the monthly Japanese club called Koi Club on March 17th. The address is Bar Karl-Marx-Allee 36, next door to the Cafe Moskau and the start time is 22.00. Entrance is free.
Finally, if you're thinking of visiting Berlin from Britain, you could do worse than buy the April edition of Olive, the BBC's food and travel guide. There's a consumer guide to Berlin in there written by a certain Nick Currie, rumoured to be Momus' pervert doppelganger. The April edition of Olive hits the streets on 2nd March.

What a great Idea...
Date: 2005-03-01 08:43 pm (UTC)I am moving to Berlin in May and I would find it most helpful if you put up a best of Berlin link list or something. Perhaps to educate those throngs of newcomers, and to insert some spice into the lives of those already there and presumably acquainted with the good things in Berlin.
It was just a thought but if you do do this, I promise to bake you a pie and bring it to your next show. I am only asking because I can't get OLIVE in Athens, Georgia.

(And yes, I have ordered a copy of Otto Spooky; it should be arriving soon.)

I used to listen to momus ages ago (singer-songwriter phase), and was quite surprised to see that a) the project still exists, and b) you're living in Berlin now and c) you often spend time in Japan, all of which I do as well (existing, spending and living?).
Anyway, am looking forward to hearing what your stuff sounds like now at Koi Club.
