Ah, but you're steering people away from one cliché into another, that evil is within, it's us, it's hiding in plain view etc etc. It's the new gnosticism.
Do you think one's a right wing cliché (evil is over there) and one a left wing cliché (evil is in here)? Then again, there is a right wing sense of "the dark heart of mankind". The main difference is that right wingers then tend to project it onto others (as I'm now projecting my own tendency to project onto them).
