nice try, but you were speaking about contemporary japan, which as you know is far more interested in fast food and tacky clothes than with metaphysical speculations originating in the kamakura era.
the point still stands: you asserted that the current "habitus" (habits, practices, tastes) of japan was "healthy"; many (who've spent a great deal of time there in the last few years) would beg to differ; many of my japanese friends included (ask an actual japanese person, remember!)
