What a great response, thank you -- and thanks for contributing to the album via conversations on alt.fan.momus! This mourning-celebration process really puts things in perspective, doesn't it? On the one hand, 2000 seems like yesterday. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine that world pre-iPod, pre-YouTube, pre-Bush and 9/11, pre-Iraq and Afghanistan, that world in which we used newsgroups rather than Web 2.0, that world in which kids who are now approaching their tenth birthday were just a gleam in their parents' eyes.
I got a big rush of nostalgia the other day looking through all my photos of my first Tokyo soujourns in 2001, 2002. That seems like another life altogether now... One I'll be revisiting when I look at the Oskar album.
