What's a little piece of Portugal doing in the Pearl River Delta? Why are Macao and Hong Kong like floppy discs? And who are the latest Cantopop tweenieboppers?

You'll probably never know the answer to those three questions... unless you listen to Macao Radio (18 MB mono mp3 file, 40 minutes).

I'm taken to some equally strange places by your voice (http://demosaurus.free.fr/mp3/Crying_for_nothing.mp3), David!

I recently became aware of the HK band "The Marshmallow Kisses" (www.themarshmallowkisses.com) after meeting band member Edine on friendster. She quotes Cornelius, Kahimi Karie, and other Shibuya-keians as influences. I think you might appreciate the sound and sensibility.

it's really strange how portuguese this place looks like... i can imagine that a crossing of cantonese and portuguese ethnics (if there has been any mixture of cultures) must produce beautyful people. . .

some berlin news, nick?
the Automatenbar closes his keycard doors forever. the last spot of the retro-futuristic spirit of the 90s in berlin has to give place to another Berlin Mitte sneakers store (or whatever). if he doesn't change his mind in the last moment lucas will do a performance with his 8 year old fellow oscar at the final party.
the Palast der Republik is now open to the public before it will be pulled down in 2005. one of the last examples of the GDR vision of modern architecture gets deleated in favor for a replica of the old Stadtschloss.
nick, we are inspecting a lot of apartments these days, since one of antonia's sisters plans to move to berlin. there are definitly places that might be suitable for you.
nick, berlin's missing you.

Yeah, I heard about Automaten, they sent me a mail. Sad, but then again I do feel the place began to have a 90s smell. It was the last relic of a Mitte that's long gone. It's time for Torsten to amaze us with something else, somewhere else.

I'll be back in Berlin at the end of this month, and I'm sort of missing it too! I'm planning to quit the KMA apartment by the end of the year, but won't be looking for a new place until the end of February, because it looks like I may have a two-month residency at a Japanese university as a sound artist. More news when that's confirmed.
