Good post. I wholeheartedly second your recommendation of Lullatone's music (and Shawn's a very nice fellow). The 3 disks of theirs we have have been in heavy rotation here for quite a while now. I was sorry to miss catching them live, but we were in Tokyo in-between their two most recent shows.
On a related note, I haven't noticed if you've already mentioned them but I think that the magazines My Charm (http://www.mycharm-web.com/), Letter and others like them harmonize very nicely with Lullatone's music. When I discovered them in Libro (downstairs in Parco 1), I immediately thought they would be something you'd appreciate -- twee little magazines that blend East and West in an original way. And the most recent issues of My Charm came with CD compilations that include Hazel Nuts Chocolate and others of that ilk.
