Here are some shots of my Paris trip last week, including scenes of the lovely curvy new wooden footbridge over the eastern Seine, connecting Bercy to the Mitterand library. Just to the right of the bridge is the new floating swimming pool, the Piscine Josephine Baker. You can easily walk from here into the 13th arrondissement Chinatown, where me, Toog and Flo (whose flat you can also see here) ended up trying on big festival masks at tacky-gorgeous Chinese superstore Tang Freres.

Momus trivia question: which of my songs mentions Josephine Baker, and what's the connection with making things float?

Now you've got a pump, you can buy one to go with it.

Here's the song in question (http://www.poptunes.de/Poptunes/momus_-_michelin_man.mp3), by the way. It contains instructions on what to do with the pump, plus sound effects.

Aaww, someone beat me to the answer.

Random boring fact: My great grandfather actually went to see Josephine Baker when she was still in the Moulin Rouge.

Pump, pump it up
Pump it up if ever it goes limp
Dress in crepe, dress up in silk
Pump it up, 'cause when he's hard and when he's big

One of my favourite !
A bientôt Nick !

I lived a year ot two ago just north of Chinatown in the 13th while spending an inordinate amount of time at the Mitterrand library, so I thank you for the pictures of home.

Also I like how in Paris the pedestrian stoplight man has his hands on his hips impatiently!

Isn't this one of your "shocking and controversial" songs? It surprises (shocks?) me, to see how little it takes to offend angry people with lawyers.

That's a garden designed for the Palais de Tokyo by Berlin gardeners Atelier Le Balto, who also made the garden in the courtyard at Kunst-Werke in Berlin. More about them here (http://imomus.livejournal.com/212172.html).
